The name of the event is Kafaalat and its objective is to raise funds for Muslim children and educate them in order to bridge the gap between academic performance and industry needs.

The event envisions steering the educational upliftment of competitive, but financially deprived students, irrespective of their racial, caste, religious, colour, sectarian and linguistic identities. My role in the project was to develop network relationships with a large number of people and other organizations that can be helpful and act as effective sources of information.

The collaboration occurred while networking with colleagues, people having support needs, carers, family members, health care professionals and a few other experts. Here, for the given project, the collaborative work activities comprised group projects that included networking with colleagues.

The first strategy being used for the event includes networking with support groups. These groups offer information in relation to present issues pertinent to the Muslim group, best practice tools and techniques, referral procedures and other relevant services.

Another strategy includes networking with teachers and other training bodies. These aid in offering best practice tools, techniques and knowledge and advice on suitable professional development programs.

The timeline of the event was 2.5 months during which we developed sustainable community services with professional edge and clear vision.

Collecting, maintaining and reviewing the information regarding potential and present collaborators and networks is crucial to ensure effective delivery of services. Upkeeping an updated contact list for all probable collaborators helped in benefitting the involved key stakeholders. Evaluation of strengths and weaknesses of the event helped in forming effective strategies to communicate with the relevant people. Professionally polite relationships depend on good communication and mutually beneficial interactions.

The experience from the event has improved both my listening and communication skills. Listening helped me in remaining alert and responsive throughout the event. Being the representative of the organization, I always ensured to maintain professional and ethical standards. I communicated clearly and adequately and maintained a higher level of confidentiality. In case any problem arises in the company, firstly, one must look for the same case to arise or not before. In case, the same problem has been encountered before, one must look for how that problem was solved. It will aid in saving time and the also in tackling the problem in a better way.

Effective collaborative partnerships take due time to form and need to be nurtured. Regular contact and commitment towards helping others build strong bonds and make sure that others will remain available to aid in meeting the objectives. Interagency meetings have been held wherein a number of distinct agencies meet together to deliberate topics of mutual interest.
