Behavioural guidance is a way of helping a child develops the self-management of his behavioural actions. The behaviour guidance aims to make the child understand his behavioural actions and develop a skill of managing his behaviour. Under this guidance, the act of physically beating, scolding, punishing are not considered as the remedial method to improve the child's behavioural action because these treatments affect the child mentally and his self-esteem. The plan developed for behaviour guidance is called behavioural guidance plan. It is a written document that contains information regarding appropriate steps required for the development of a child's behaviour and how the assisting person should support the child.

The consistency in implementation can be maintained by regularly following up the scheduled set for the activities and putting the proper focus in each of the activities to be performed. Moreover, it is required to adhere to the prescribed medication and behavior with the child throughout.
The staff will be supported in the plan by providing the written plan and procedure along with the pragmatic training about the following treatment. They can be trained for the way to behave and how do they have to behave in a particular situation.
The child will be included in the decision-making process by asking the children about his preference regarding the activities to be performed or the skill he wants to develop. Moreover, the children should be given a chance to propose their preference for his plan or short term plan.
The plan might link to service in many ways because every service is delivered from one end to another and the same applies to this. Moreover, services are rendered in a systematic process and different person plays a different role at a different level. Similarly, in this plan, many service providers have different responsibilities and duties to perform at a different level that eventually benefits the customer or in this case the child.
